Top 5 Festival Picks

When it comes to bohemian style clothing and accessories, it’s all about floaty layers that are a little bit earthy and influenced by materials like cotton, wood, leather, stone and metal.

Bohemian style fashion is very prominent during festival season, so we thought we’d highlight some of our favorite beads and findings that you could use to make bohemian style jewelry. You can use these to fit right in if you’re a festival-goer (or if you just love bohemian fashion)!

1. Neon Pink Mini Barrel Matte Ceramic Beads

These bright and vibrant beads are one of our latest arrivals into the Golden Age Beads store. Each one has been handmade in Greece out of high quality clay. They have a distinctive earthy look about them, as well as an edge with that stunning hot pink color!

These would look great used as part of bohemian style bracelet. For inspiration, check out this gorgeous gypsy bracelet we found on Etsy (from the shop OmSama), made by Marjut.

2. Hybrid Cornflower Picasso Toho Round Seed Beads 11/0

Seed beads are a great addition to any bead box as they can be used for a multitude of projects! Our Japanese Toho Round Hybrid Cornflower Picasso seed beads have rounded edges and the earthy green and brown color and marbled effect of these particular seed beads perfectly complement bohemian fashion.

You could use these for earring projects – we think they would look great when paired with woven fabric. Take a look at these awesome bohemian leaves / macrame earrings below made by Marta from Marta Jewelry for inspiration!

3. Antique Silver Alexander Coin Charm

Our antique silver Alexander coin charm is made from lead free metal and features a different design on both sides.

Gold or silver coin charms make for beautiful bohemian jewelry, for example in layered necklaces. We love this layered necklace from Sarah at Kurafuchi below! Our coin charms could be used to make something similar, or if you prefer gold colors for your jewelry-making projects, check out our gold plated cornflake disc beads here.

4. Light Teal Green Magnesite Beads

These lovely 4mm magnesite beads in teal, threaded with a dark marbled vein look great when paired with natural materials like leather cord.

Why not have a go at making a leather wrap bracelet like this one below? The brass button and tassel really add to the bohemian style of this piece. You can find the full tutorial right here on our blog.

5. Antique Brass Leaf Charms

These beautiful antique brass leaf charms are versatile enough to work as part of any jewelry-making project.

For festival jewelry, you could make a long necklace using chain and different charms. We love this mixed media dreamcatcher necklace below (sourced from Flickr creative commons), which is made from all sorts of different beads and charms. Perfect to wear for a summer festival!
