Love is in the air (and especially around the blogosphere) at the moment as Valentine’s Day is almost upon us!
In case you’re thinking of creating a handmade gift for your friends or family this Valentine’s Day, we’ve put together a post on some of the best Valentine’s inspired craft projects that we’ve seen around the web in recent weeks. Enjoy!
1. XOXO Clay Pendant Necklace
This is a brilliant tutorial on how to make a clay XOXO pendant for a necklace by Linda over at A Sweet Afternoon. She explains step by step with photos about how to make this project using air dry clay, letter cutters and paint. The finished result is awesome!
2. Wool Valentine Card
Know any crochet or knitting enthusiasts? Why not make their Valentine’s Day by sending them this adorable “Wool You Be My Valentine Card”. The blogger behind this craft project is Stephanie from All About Ami. She has created a free printable to help you make this and there are plenty of photos that explain how to make it too.
3. No Sew Heart Coin Purse
Over at the Mark Montano blog, you can find out how to make a No Sew Heart Coin Purse – a cute Valentine’s gift for any special friend in your life. This tutorial uses red vinyl for the purse itself, but you could use a different type of fabric if you prefer.
4. DIY Conversation Heart Rings
We think these colorful giant conversation heart rings from Kelly at Studio DIY are sure to brighten up your friend’s day. They are made from hot glue and nail polish! Why not make some for your co-workers too?
5. DIY Heart Valentine Gloves
These DIY Heart Valentine Gloves from Elizabeth at Simple Simon and Company are possibly the sweetest pair of gloves we’ve ever seen. You won’t need to spend a lot of money making this gift for someone, all you’ll need is a pair of gloves (which you can pick up for a dollar), a little bit of felt, fabric glue and embroidery thread.
6. DIY Love Heart Earrings
We found these DIY Love Heart Stud Earrings over at Motte – these are made from modelling clay, ear posts and a little shimmery paint! You’ll find the full tutorial on how to make these over at the Motte blog.
7. Stone Wire Wrapped Bangles
Over at Made in a Day, we came across some stunning stone wire wrapped bangle bracelets. These are made using gold wire and large chunky statement beads or stones. Check out the sweetheart bracelet at the bottom of the tutorial – this one would make a gorgeous Valentine’s gift!
We hope you enjoy checking out these Valentine’s inspired craft and jewelry-making projects as much as we did. Don’t forget, we have our own Valentine’s jewelry-making tutorial for you this week on our blog – see how to make a beaded charm bracelet for Valentine’s Day here.
