Blog Love #7 – Best Craft Blog Reads (Independence Day Edition)

Earlier this week, we published an Independence Day DIY jewelry-making project for you to have fun with – our peyote stitch beaded ring tutorial. It’s not just us who have been busy creating ready for the 4th of July! We’ve been seeing plenty of great craft tutorials from bloggers around the web too!

In this post, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite Independence Day themed craft projects we’ve found in recent weeks. Enjoy!

1. Red, White and Blue Ball Wreath

It’s amazing what you can make with bits and bobs from IKEA! Emily from Nap Time Creations shared a great tutorial on how to make a red, white and blue ball wreath made from IKEA fabric globes. See how to make one here at Sugar Bee Crafts!

2. Fourth of July American Flag Weaving

Red, white and blue shades of yarn and a selection of beads are the main materials used for this impressive American Flag woven wall art! If you’re in need of a patriotism fix, you’ll love making this. Find out how to make it in this tutorial from The House That Lars Built.

3. Fourth of July Tealight Holders

Over at Delineate Your Dwelling, we found an awesome tutorial on how to make Fourth of July Tealight Holders using air dry clay and cut up red and blue straws! Very creative use of materials for this one!

4. Star-Spangled Colander Patriotic Centerpiece

Speaking of creative use of materials, this tutorial from Sadie Seasongoods on how to make a star-spangled table centerpiece using an antique colander is seriously amazing! If you’re looking for ideas for dressing your dinner table on the Fourth of July, definitely check this out.

5. Fourth of July Printable

Over at Aspen Jay, we came across this free wall art printable which uses the Preamble to the US Constitution. If you want to add meaning to your Independence Day decor, you can print this out and frame it!

6. DIY Patriotic T-Shirt

For those of you that have access to a Silhouette Cameo, you can make a DIY Fourth of July T-Shirt using a free Silhouette cutting file – follow this tutorial from Pitter and Glink! You’ll also need red and blue heat transfer vinyls for this project.

7. DIY Star-Spangled 4th of July Balloons

This is a really simple DIY project we came across over at The Polka Dot Chair that will add a little sparkle to your Independence Day decorations! You’ll just need a few paper based craft materials for this project – the results look great!

We hope you enjoy checking out these Independence Day themed craft projects as much as we did! Before you go, why not take a look at another tutorial we created previously for Independence Day – this beaded bracelet tutorial.
