Etsy is best for hand made items. Amazon and eBay are great for getting supplies though. I have never sold any items on Amazon nor eBay but I have made over 30 sales on Etsy and highly recommend it for people who do make their own items.
From a buyer’s point of view, I agree about Ebay and Amazon. My husband is totally an Ebay person, he buys everything there (who said that men don’t like shopping? he spends hours browsing deals), and I’m an Amazon person. Amazon search is the best, and nothing can beat the reviews!
From the seller’s point of view though, they are both tricky and overcrowded. I don’t like the piggybacking feature on Amazon where anybody can sell from the same listing as you even if it was you who created it.
Yeah that is another reason why eBay and Amazon don’t do well for people starting out. There is just too much going on. With Etsy, you know what you are going in for. Most of what is sold on there is handmade to some extent and that is what makes it easier to make sales. I did no advertising at all and go those sales.
